Lectures Coming Up, Recent Updates

I'm still trying to figure out how to use the combination of the blog, Padlet, and Bluesky - considering that this is mostly for trainees and colleagues, and that I don't have much time to do much else with it, I'm not sure what is best? The website / blog is the "anchor" but the Padlet is more casual and requires less time to post interesting things (as long as I remember to do so?) Anyway, as a placeholder in the likely case that I forget to post again before the beginning of PGY-2 lectures: (1) For trainees and some…

ANPA 2025 + Looking Forward

ANPA 2025 is over - just got home so still transitioning back to "real life," but the conference was great and Montreal was great. Good topics, great people at ANPA, and Montreal itself was great in terms of people, food, music, and general vibes. I'm posting a few things on the Padlet about some neuromodulation stuff and maybe some other things. Looking forward - hopefully will be motivated and able to work on grand rounds, also upcoming PGY-2 and then PGY-4 lectures, and otherwise working through / advocating during these weird political times.

ANPA Is Coming + New Dropbox Files Incoming

I haven't been posting much due to distraction from some personal and professional things, as well as my lectures being delayed until May. That being said - (1) I'm excited for the annual ANPA meeting in Montreal this year (2) For trainees and colleagues - I'm adding a bunch of files to the Dropbox, and will likely expand it's overall use and range. Also do the aforementioned distraction - there's been a bunch of stuff that in retrospect I should have put on the Padlet. I'll work on that! Thank you for reading this boring update post!

New Year, New Opportunities And Struggles

I apologize for the somewhat "LinkedIn Inspirational Post" title - but I do anticipate some personal and professional issues/stress as well as positive events this year. My lecture series are both pushed back this year - not sure if that will mean I post more or less on the site. I am continuing to work on a couple of projects but I'm not 100% sure which one will become next academic year's grand rounds topic. In the meantime, I'm trying out having my talks on a separate page - may end up causing issues with my Dropbox account, but for…

New Website?

Updated the website. Pros include: not looking like a professional site from the 1990s. Floating shapes? More functional? Cons: still kind of boring. Still tweaking settings.

ANPA 2025 Agenda

The agenda for the 2025 American Neuropsychiatric Association Annual Meeting is Toronto has been released: https://anpaonline.org/ Interesting change for this year is that there are two talks going on at once for Thursday / Friday.

With And As: PPT and notes

I'm having some Wordpress woes, but this is hopefully working - a PPT of my recent talk: I typically try to have most of the information I say somewhere on the slides - always a delicate balance between a boring "reading from the slides but useful reference slides" vs. more flavorful "more minimal slides but then the slides are useless, but I feel like I'm pretty decent at it usually - but this topic had a lot more sidenotes / anecdotes during the actual presentation, so I also tried to put some of them on a notes PDF:

2024 Grand Rounds Is Over

Completed my 2024 grand rounds - I have some mixed feelings about it overall, to be honest. I initially wanted to do a broad topic to "get back into it" and re-debut in my department after being on grand rounds haitus for almost 5 years, but that meant it ended up being less polished, slightly rushed, and much material. My original plan to "build sexuality and gender from the ground-up" didn't have enough nuance and either wasn't enough material or was not "clinical" enough, so instead I approached it from a historic perspective of labels. It felt more like a…

Grand Rounds Playlist

In anticipation for the upcoming talk, here is the official Spotify playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1yR33FNMH7wAVCRdsqFBsB?si=5b851c381e9e444d 2024 Grand Rounds Playlist The talk itself is a less polished than I typically like for my grand rounds, and definitely too broad of a topic - but hopefully will still be useful.
