Hello all,
It’s a new academic year? I’m mostly typing this to keep the blog active, though I don’t have much to say. Working on a couple of talks and considering some curriculum changes. For the residents (which should be the biggest percentage of people reading this) – remember to check the Dropbox.
I’m also now at the Associate Professor level, which doesn’t really change much but seems like an accomplishment. Seems like the most appropriate thing to do is post my book (though these are only the ones in my work office):
In order to celebrate my promotion to Associate Professor, here are some dorky-ass photos of me with all of the books in my office. Not included: the other large amount of books at home, including the disturbingly large “to read” section in my home office.

I have some thoughts on the academic / medical education landscape in light of recent events, as well as some thoughts on science, pride, and the important of professional organizations – but (1) this blog is probably my lowest “update this” priority (2) it is more focused on education specifically (3) I’m not necessarily the best person to talk about it vs. reposting other things (4) the Dropbox is more active for academic stuff, and my personal journal is more for “getting the feelings out.” That being said, I’m going to try to repost and promote organizations and people on the Padlet and social media that are better about speaking out about these things – though part of the issue is probably that I haven’t been on social media as much and therefore missing some interesting articles / discussions to put on the Padlet.
