2024 Grand Rounds Is Over

Completed my 2024 grand rounds - I have some mixed feelings about it overall, to be honest. I initially wanted to do a broad topic to "get back into it" and re-debut in my department after being on grand rounds haitus for almost 5 years, but that meant it ended up being less polished, slightly rushed, and much material. My original plan to "build sexuality and gender from the ground-up" didn't have enough nuance and either wasn't enough material or was not "clinical" enough, so instead I approached it from a historic perspective of labels. It felt more like a…

Grand Rounds Playlist

In anticipation for the upcoming talk, here is the official Spotify playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1yR33FNMH7wAVCRdsqFBsB?si=5b851c381e9e444d 2024 Grand Rounds Playlist The talk itself is a less polished than I typically like for my grand rounds, and definitely too broad of a topic - but hopefully will still be useful.

Upcoming Grand Rounds

Title screen of "With" & "As": History & The Conceptualization of Sexuality & Gender I haven't posted much recently - this is a perennial issue, but to my credit I have some excuses this time- (1) focusing on some family things (2) being "off-season" in terms of lectures (3) new computer (4) website woes (5) spending too much time reading and working on a grand rounds. I used to do a grand rounds or similar talk about once / year, but paused in 2018 due to some family changes and tried to restart in 2019 with an "easy one" on…

Back From ANPA!

A great conference this year, with great topics and events! I wish that I had taken more pictures - the only one that I have is this random picture of the prosecco that was at the poster session, which makes the event seem way more formal and bougie than it was. The speakers were great, the bazaar was fun, and the people, as always, were down-to-earth and friendly. The anti-amyloid treatment discussion was one of the most energetic debates I've seen at ANPA; the AI talks were interesting, though simultaneously made me feel like I need to look further into…

The Season Is Upon Us

The season is upon us - well, Halloween, but also lecture season! For the first time ever (?) (!) I've remember to log into the site pre-lectures, so welcome to all new PGY-2s and PGY-3s! Please use the Dropbox (will be sent via email and confirmed at the lectures themselves) for lectures, articles, and other information. This site will mostly be supplemental to that. Pleases see the link pages for social media - though I've been mostly off of it recently.
Return, Updates

Return, Updates

I've had only limited use of social media for the past couple of months, but I'm returning now for the start of the new academic year. While staying away from social media (particularly Twitter) I've been able to realize both the good and the bad of using social media. I've definitely lost some good connections and the benefits that come from them - books that I would have never known about or read if not for social media, music I would have never discovered, artists and their work, having a finger on the pulse of some communities, etc. - and…

VA & Lecanemab
